Get to know Wiley Ranch

Father and son team, Kim and Erik Wiley, began their Santa Gertrudis herd with the purchase of 2 heifers from Wendt Ranch in 2009.

That hobby herd has now increased to 450 head and growing. As the data/genetic trend progressed, Wiley Ranch managed to shift their herd traits to meet the ever emerging market. They are now the largest Santa Gertrudis breeders in Louisiana and setting personal benchmarks to insure they fit the Data Driven/Profit Proven image. In a quest to broaden their foreign interest they’ve recently partnered with Gyranda Ranch from Australia on a “trait leading” bull from Red Doc Farms. In addition, they sold a bull to breeders in Bangladesh. They are committed to continue to improve herd traits with every purchase they make. Their agriculture background has now come full circle. They farm 6000 acres of row crops and own/operate two successful Purina dealerships, which gives them the opportunity to make needed contacts with other cattlemen.

The Wiley’s are active supporters of the local 4H in Avoyelles Parish. They promote the Santa Gertrudis breed by donating cattle to youth to show in 4H. They are also very supportive of other youth and community activities.

The Wiley’s are excited about the future of the Santa Gertrudis breed and the lasting friendships they are able to make along the way!

Our cattle are second to none.
